You have to hike to really see Delicate Arch up close. It's about a mile and a half from the Wolf Ranch trailhead with a 480-foot climb in elevation, but it's worth the effort. This is my second time photographing Delicate Arch. My first trip was in the summer and I was disappointed in my arch photos because the sky was totally cloudless. I did, however, capture a gorgeous shot of the canyon wall behind the arch, seen in the background of this photo. This year was a treat - the late afternoon light was absolutely beautiful, the sky appeared as a soft flow of white and blue, and a young couple hiked up in wedding clothes and got married under the arch.
